I said that I knew what he could leave me in his will and he said that I'd have to fight his son for it.
Challenge accepted.
*Edit* - Alright, some things were off from the original post, I get it, yeesh.

Fathers and sons spend lots of time together, unless they don't, but if they do it's pretty easy to fake a murder-suicide with a new gain of Miata.

Said regular also owns a DD Volvo 850 with a Prancing Moose badge. (and he's getting me one!) The guy is pretty awesome.

There's no such thing as an '88 Miata.
1st MY in the USA was 1990

No such thing! Either a '97 or '99.

Changed it to MX-5. Thought that Miata came first.

I was just going by what he said. I'm not a huge Mazda enthusiast, but I am a fan.

Regardless, either you were lied to or you're lying though.

Super low mileage is not always a good thing.

Shh, don't ruin this little fantasy for me...

I'm really going to start a shitstorm here. Why a Miata with so few miles? Because they are the most impractical car to own. So, you drive something else 90% of the time.
Proof: I have a friend who calls me up every couple of weeks and wants to know when I am going to the grocery store. "Can I go with you? I need to get a bunch of groceries". Me: "Sure, my truck will hold several months of groceries".
Yeah, I know, handling and fun to drive. My motorcycle does the same for me.

Nope i daily drive one and have no issues. I can fit plenty of stuff in my Miata. Your friend just doesn't know how to pack. Remove the spare tire and you have even more trunk space.

I've been using Miatas for daily driving since May 2000 and there have been no more than five occasions since then when I found it useful to use a different car.
